Best Pub Food in Ditchling

Our dishes change as often as our trusty British weather (that is to say, quite often) so you’ll get little nibbles of excitement from our menu every time you visit. Plus, we’re always taking advantage of seasonal ingredients, so you’ll be tucking into the freshest asparagus in Spring, the sweetest berries in Summer, dining on game-y goodness in Autumn, and freshest root veggies in the Winter.

Head Chef Henri’s dishes are pure comfort food, brought to life by the best local, seasonal produce – including special dishes with ingredients from The Sussex Peasant (you can even buy your own on a Thursday morn at our pop-up shop.)

Our pub is spot-on for any dining moment; from a hearty Full English, lingering over a leisurely Sunday lunch, a more formal supper with fine wine in the restaurant, and every scrumptious mouthful in-between.

The welcome is always warm, so simply walk-in or reserve yourself a spot to join us.

Fresh, Local Produce

We just love to source local food. From Mac’s Farm eggs (laid less than a mile away) so the best British meats.

The incredible Sussex Peasant set up their farm shop in our car park on a Thursday from 9am (think foraged mushrooms, Sussex honey and wonky carrots galore) so it’s a piece of cake for us to keep it fresh.

Best Sunday Roast in Sussex

Sundays are a fireside pint and a newspaper sort of day. With a nicely-spiced Bloody Mary to kick things off, Sundays are a gather-the-family occasion. And our pub was built for this.

Three fireplaces, countless cosy nooks, more-than-a-handful of amazing Sunday roasts (plus keep-em-coming sides) and the warmest welcome. Pub Sundays don’t get better than this.

Favourite Festive Foods

When it comes to Christmas, nobody does it better than us.

Twinkling lights, roaring fires, candlelight, Christmassy music and the sweet smell of mulled wine in the air.

And the food? Well, we’re whipping up piled-high plates of comfort and joy. Crisp roasties, hot-and-smokey pigs in blankets, mountains of turkey and all the trimmings.

Whether you’re planning your work Christmas dinner (or drinks) a Twixmas meet-up with mates, or a full-on family feast – we’re here for you.
